Title: red lense or not?
Post by: BIGINNER on November 06, 2009, 08:11:58 AM
i have a question,  when using a spotlight for preditor hunting, how much better off are you using a red lense on your spotlight?  i got a spotlight a couple days ago, i didn't get a chance to test it out on the feild yet, but i tried shining it at neibors dogs and cats,  the light made then turn away right away, looked like it was hurting their eyes,   would it have the same affect on coyotes?  or am i better off getting a red lense for the spolight?

Use the red lense.  It doesn't spook game as easily.  One other tip that I've heard is use the "halo" of the light beam instead of the main beam.  It doesn't take much to light their eyes.
