I use Break Free because it does everything in one. I would be interested what everyone else uses and to hear the argument to persuade the rest of us to use the product as well.
My vote is for Break Free because of the standards the company holds and it is used by all our military.

I use Mpro7 for my bores, then follow that up with a light coat of oil. If the barrel is really bad, I have some Shooters Choice that is almost toxic to use, but it gets the job done, just do not get any on your bluing or stock.
-
Light cot of oil, what oil?
-
Right now, have Remoil, but I also use light machine oil if they are going to be stored for awhile.
-
I use Hoppes Elite for cleaning. It seems to get stuff Hoppes #9 doesn't. After it's clean, I run a mop with a few drops of Remoil on it down the bore a few times.
I lucked out the other day at Kmart. They have all their hunting stuff on clearance markdown. The little 2 oz. spray bottles of Hoppes Elite were marked down from $7.29 each to $.70 each. I grabbed the last three bottles.
For the wood on my rifles, I use Howard Feed and Wax. Works great and it smells like oranges.

What? No WD40??? :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

hoppes solvent to clean.... and either corrosion XD or fluid film... fluid film is good stuff..
-
Eezox for all, but I start with a heavier-duty cleaner for black powder, then finish it off with eezox.

For a light cleaning to get out carbon, a kroil patch. If I'm trying to clean to bare metal then I start with a couple of lightly coated kroil patches then a couple of patches of CR-10, then a treatment of wipe out. After the wipe out sits in the bbl for around 20 min's then a dry patch followed with CR-10 to check for copper, if there's still copper in the bbl then another wipe out. If the bbl is clean then a dry patch and finally a patch of kroil.

break free for me...

HOMEBREW!!!!!! 50/50 GM Top Engine Cleaner and Kroil. For copper Sweets 7.62. Finish it up with light coating of Rem Oil.

I use Birchwood casey gun scrubber, Barnes CR-10, and Break free.
