I am leaving for Montana deer hunting on the 20th and it did not occur to me until now that I better try to fill my washington rifle deer tag soon or its gone. I was thinking about heading over to the NE corner for the late whitetail next weekend and try to get a buck. I have not hunted this area for about 13 years and when we did we had private land to hunt. The woman who let us hunt has passed on and this is why I have never been back. I am wondering if anyone would be willing to point me in the right direction as far as some public land goes. I got on the WDFW site and checked out the go hunt deal, but it does'nt show much. I will be picking up some maps this week, but if anyone has any helpful ideas that might narrow down a area or some area's to research I would sure appreciate it.

Wish I could help. Does the Huckleberry Unit count? I have never hunted there but a former boss of mine used to do well in the muzzy season on pvt land there. He just walked up to a farmhouse & knocked on the door. SW of Chewela. Sorry I can't really help. Good Luck.
