Yesterday, my brother was able to take his first bull elk in NE WA. It was a short shot of about 40 yards, but when the elk hit the ground, the work began. The bull was over a mile from the truck and about 1200 vertical feet above the truck, with a large creek bottom separating the two. The hard work involved with getting the elk out just makes the hunting memory that much more sweeter.

Ha- This picture makes it look like we are in the nicest huntin' grounds around! I know the bitter truth! That was one heck off a creek bottom we had to go through!!!! I think that is one of two open patches on that hill side!!!
