Now what? :o :dunno:
-
Is the pic real or photoshopped?
-
I think it is real I found it on outfitters out of Wyoming web sight. You can see blood on the rocks right next to where the guy is standing. Looks like where it face piled in
-
Yeah, that complicates things abit...hope they didnt lose the meat with the dillema...
-
Thats in a bad spot, the elk I'm packing on the avatar for a gentlemen he dropped in these rocks,I bout blew my nuts out getting him out of the rocks to gut.The older fella, I had him sit down and I started him a fire while I got the work done, quite the workout. It was his first elk.
-
think of it this way if he's not dead he's not going much farther! :chuckle:
-
That original pic looks like it was the same bull from a hunting show. Guys couldn't find it for a while, then... good thing they had half dozen, or so, helpers.
-
:o Dang thats not good....and Rasbo that was sure nice of you to help that guy out ;)
-
got a helicopter and a tow strap??
-
LongTat that's exactly what I was thinking. Call in MEDIVAC and airlift it out of there.
New definition to in a tight spot!!
-
Have fun with that one..
-
Similar situation. I BELIEVE that they were only able to salvage portions of this bull since it kept falling deeper into the crevasse. I cannot confirm it though.
-
isn't it funny that they never die in spots like these on those "hunting" shows. always dead with the legs and head all layed out nicely

Now what? :o :dunno:
Well, at least they can get to the backstraps. :)
-
Thanks for posting the pics!!!

I saw a situation similar to the first pic on the Outdoor network. They had enough room to get a guy underneath the bull and gut it from there. It made it a lot lighter, and could then use log pole pines to lever it out. It was either a female shooter, or female guide. They found another guide in the area to help with lifting it out.
-
Saw that show. It was a female guide. They called in a half dozen other guys and they "levered" it out of there with logs, ropes, and pulleys. Was fun to watch them figure out how to do it.
-
That first pic was from a Realtree video. That is Miachal Waddell in the picture if im not mistaken. Yes its real. Bad luck right there! :'(
-
I saw a hunt on TV that ended like that. Could be the same bull.
-
The 2nd set of photos is a year or 2 old and if I remember right, the meat couldn't be salvaged. :(
-
tough situation. that would definately suck and only be able to salvage parts of the elk.

:yeah: I'm pretty sure I remember this on a show also....sure looks familiar.
-
that could deffinatly make you rack your brain for i deas. talk about a tough spot
-
Wow! That brings a new meaning to the word "WORK" getting an elk out!!!
