I've been busy, and I finally have some time to post. I shot this one on Nov. 9 (3rd day of the season). Not too much of a story. I was just walking up an old logging road. I had started seeing a lot of pretty fresh tracks in the road, and had heard a cow call about 200 yards below the road in the timber. My plan was to walk the road to the end, then If needed, I would come back down and follow some of these fresh tracks into the timber. About 1/4 mile later I come around a corner and there he is. About 50 yards above the road, and about 100 yards from me, feeding, quartering away. He didn't even know I was there. Not a bad pack. About 2 miles, all down hill. With five others to help, made it pretty easy. It's not my biggest bull, but I am happy with any elk I can get. I was home for two days, and then headed to Montana for deer. Moving over to post that story now. It's been a good year for me.

I am going to have to start calling my buddy the "elk slayer". I think this was his 5th bull in 7 years! I chose a different trail that morning, stupid me! :bash: I did however "GET" to help pack it out. Congrats again Eric!

Can you really call what you did "pack". Guess which "pack" was his!
PS: I know your knee was really hurting you, but I couldn't help it. Glad you were there.
