Title: Piebald in Yakima canyon (updated with better pics)
Post by: luvtohnt on November 22, 2009, 07:07:22 PM
I found him, and got better pics. Bone I wish I would have checked the thread earlier, I could have given you a call when I found him. I will send you a pm and let you know where he is. It would be awesome to have some good pics of him. I say him because one of the pics defiantly looks like he has some nubs. I may have to hunt rifle season next year to see if I can't nail this guy to my wall. With a special permit of course.  ;)

Very cool Brandon.  I'll be in the canyon this morning with my daughter.  Maybe we'll get to see it and I'll be able to show her something she has never seen.

DANG!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't see him this morning...maybe I'll catch him now that I know where to look.  Found one decent buck on the Yak this morning....no pics though...way to far away and the light was weird as heck this morning.  I think I snapped about 5 frames today of three big sheep that were also a million away.

Very cool looking deer. I've never seen one before. Only pics. Didn't think we had them around here.

I got some good deer pics. I saw them swimming the river and by the time I got turned around and parked they were getting out on the other side. I saw a ton of sheep and some rams, but everything seemed to be out of reach for my little camera.

Both of the ones that I saw were bucks.  One was a spike about 8 years ago and the other a small 2 point about a month ago.

You think they get poached out?? Winter???? Or do they stand out too much for predators??. When there isn't snow....  :) I've never seen or heard of anybody tagging one..  :dunno:
