finally found a little spot we can set up at... well until it froze but luckily first duck of the day was a banded mallard drake... my first! That was very exciting. We saw a lot more teals flying than mallards. Time to keep scouting to find a spot that isnt frozen! :dunno:
turns out we cant even take a picture right lol...

Seen those geese right off the freeway about a month ago when I was working for DU building duck ponds out by Turnbull. There must have 200 or better geese sittin in the fields, too bad i'm not hunting this year. :'(

I know what you mean goosegetter79 I have seen more than 500 at a time in those fields...not sure who owns it but I think I saw a guy hunting it one year...so maybe its possible to get permission....those little ponds just between four lakes and Cheney always seem to have birds on them too,,, I haven't ever asked to hunt on there but I believe its all parceled up private property...but I did talk to one guy that said he had permition to hunt on it... the fields up above the ponds are OK for geese after they get up off the water too...My biggest problem is finding time to go out and knock on doors...it really should be more of a late summer activity....
