Title: Wife's 5x4 Blacktail
Post by: DeKuma on November 23, 2009, 03:59:44 PM: Well, I got skunked this year, but my favorite hunting partner scored on this nice 5x4 Blacktail. Not much of a story to it. He walked across a trail in front of us about 75 yards and stopped. First shot hit too far back, but solid. He ran straight up a cliff face and turned around to look at us and she hammered him. He fell right down the chute and broke his skull plate all up and tore the cape around the neck and ears. Drug him down the the road, gutted him and threw him in the truck. Not bad for a day we were not going to hunt and just went out on a whim.

Probably a general season buck since the antlers are already mounted and on the wall.
