Well, this year sucked to say the least.
We left town at 1:30a.m. on the 10th, drove to Libby and headed into the hills. Had camp set up by 4:00 so we went out for a drive and didn't see a thing. That continued on for the rest of the trip, broken up by a doe here and a little willow buck there. Nothing respectable this year. I got a 3X4 mulie that was taken for meat in the freezer. Dad didn't put his tag on anything and my uncle didn't either. We probably saw a total of 12 elk, all cows....we all had elk tags as well. Wolves, bears, cats and the winters are really taking a toll on the heards over there. Don't know that I'll put in for the draw next year, $760 for a deer is a bit steep.
Been catching up on some reading, Congratulations to all of you who've harvested animals while I was away.
