So I drove down to Willapa Hills over the weekend and spent a day driving around. I went in at Lebam, but could only find one locked gate to walk behind. When people say there are lots of locked gates how are they coming into the unit? The area looks good and there appear to be elk there, but for someone who likes to hunt on foot I was a little disappointed.

If you're coming from Lebam, driving towards PeEll you'll see a lot of locked gates off to the right. Also, I believe a lot of the gates around the Weyco. camp are locked.

The Raymond side is open in a few spots. I grew up there (peEll) and can tell you almost every gate in PeEll is locked up. The A line in Doty is open but is locked on the other end. I just finished up a three day hunt in the Boistfort area. All of the SP gates are locked as well. Makes it nice for us who like to walk and stalk, but sucks when quad guys get behind the gates. I hope this helps. Be careful not to park infront of gates farmers and land owners have had enough and are now inforing there own laws. (tires, and tractors move any truck)! just and FYI :hello:

Thanks. I will check some of the areas out a little further East when I'm down there in the next week or so.
