My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and I have started an annual "Thanksgiving Weekend Ski Epic." In order to qualify for an epic it needs to either start in the dark or end in the dark and require routefinding skills. We always invite a few friends along as well. In this case, only one other friend was able to make it. This year we started in the dark and summitted 6,726 ft. West Goat Mountain off of the Mt. Baker Highway. No animal pictures but a few good ski pics.

awesome. when i lived back east i used to dream of ski trips like that. we got to ski on man made ice/snow. now i am out of shape and have kids and probably won't have the opportunity to do it. thanks for the pics.

we use to hike back into the alpine wilderness all the time for some real backcountry trips. they were fun, but as the years went on they became for of a hassle then anything.
those were always the epic days on the mountains
