Just saw this story online at Kiro....I hope they locate him healthy and happy with a big elk down tomorrow. Looks like he's got a camper on his truck, so hopefully he's just in temporarily stuck somewhere safe with no cell service.

I hope he is found safe and sound. I am sure he will is looking forward to driving that beautiful truck home with the heater on full blast.
-
He's probably holed up in a honey hole with a bottle of Jack Daniels. At least that's what I would be doing. :dunno:

Yakima Herald just reported that the found him at 3:45 this afternoon. He was skining an animal when they found him :IBCOOL: I hope he had a camera with him so he can post the pics. :chuckle:

Perhaps one of the reasons for delay in finding Mr. Bates is that the road is incorrectly cited by KIRO as "Barbara Springs" road when it's really "Barber Springs" road.... hmmmm....
Glad he is o.k. !!!

i'm glad that they found him... apparently the link has been updated... that is one nice truck

Just as I had hoped... ;)

good news... when i was in Missouri this year we had just got in from the stand and my uncles phone rang. it was the fire chief, there was a hunter missing. so we got dressed and headed out. we searched the property he was hunting from about 7 pm to 230 am. found nothing. the property was only about 600 acres, we had about 50 people looking. they resumed the search the next morning and unfortunately they found him face down with no apparent trauma. he was a 24 year old fire fighter from colorado. if memory serves me his name was Blake. sad situation that undoubtedly plays out many times each year around the united states. just glad that we found this one alive.

Yep, you called it.
That sure is a fine looking truck. When I read yesterday that it was a '67 ford, I pictured a POS that probably broke down somewhere. :P I sure was wrong....
-
Thats good they found him, wonder if they helped carry the elk back to his truck for him.
-
Just curious but I did a quick look through the quagmire that we call "hunting regs" and I don't see any elk seasons open in the Manashtash area... ? :dunno: GMU 340 Perhaps he harvested in an area that is open and I missed it... :dunno:

336 and 346 are open to archery right now.
-
Glad to hear he's safe.
-
Barber springs is indeed in 340 Manastash. Hmmmm?

That's great news!! We can sure appreciate a happy ending these day! That should be blasted on the news to. I am so sad to hear of all the awful stories this AM...SO SAD:(
But, his news is happy and that is the best news in weeks:)

Ok, reported missing Monday? Found gutting an animal Wednesday? I'm bettin that there was a miscommunication or that the Elk kill was for survival. I'm hoping that he was hunting in an open area and that he wasn't lost at all.
