Just my luck for this year, the area that I'm hunting is closed for archery elk. I had 12 cows and calfs within 20 feet of me. I had the big cow dead to rights..Too bad for me...
The 3 deer were no shots. Too much brush for a good heart/lung shot. I could have tried for a spine shot, but thoght better of it..Too much brush on my side to shoot through..
Oh well there is always next weekend...

That sucks. I thought every unit was open for archery elk.

Nope,, not the Mashel 654. Plus I didn't have an elk tag..

654 isn't open? are you sure your not confusing it with the stormking?

Both units are closed for archery elk. Late archery elk that is..

yeah i just wentand looked, i thought it was open. how was the snow?

LOUD real loud..The deer would of had to be deaf and half dead just to get within bow range.. All the animals I saw were down low, and out of the wind.. It was colder then a well diggers butt in the Artic..
