Title: Lower Columbia Islands Hunting
Post by: Professor Chaos on December 10, 2009, 10:26:33 AM
Can any point me to where in the regs it lists which islands you can and cannot hunt?  Also, would this mean that you have to be X number of yards from the beach while doing a layout hunt for divers?
Thanks
P.C.

well since they are all in Oregon i should have been looking there...  Found open islands but not boundaries.  if this is available online please let me know.

If I recall the boundary runs down the middle of the CR.  You would be smart to buy an Oregon License as there is good hunting with the tides in Napa and Brownsmead.  Once you hit Skamakawa, I think the next huntable Island on the Washington side is down towards Chinook.

as far as i can tell almost all the islands are in Oregon, which is why i was having trouble finding info in the WA regs and had to go to the LC refuge page to get any info.
I have the licenses for down there for geese and will likely have to switch sides of the river if idiots keep killing duskies in the WA permit zone.

Professor, have you come further east on the CR ?  Saw a lot of ducks hitting the coves and inlets today.

Does anyone know if waterfoul hunting is permitted on Draino ?  Lots and lots of widgeon there today.

Don't believe Drano is huntable.  I believe you have to be at least a 1/2 mile from the river in that stretch to hunt waterfowl.
