I was warned in Alaska about fish harassment when my lab kept bringing in spawning salmon. She would not eat them but she'd bring them to us, so we had to leach her when fishing.

 It's called depredating wildlife and yes the owner can get fined for it in this State, the dog could also be put down if caught in the act.
 Owner = *censored*

wow that is pretty amazing that the lab would do that! but very very very unethical! spawning salmon in a small stream like that is very VERY illegal! that is major harrassment of the fish and unlawful way of catching the fish if it is open. if that stream is closed he could get a MAJOR fine. definately not the dogs fault but the owner needs to be careful and learn the laws.....

*censored*!! That fish made it through all the lip rippers and Indian nets just to have a dog drag it up on the bank before it can spawn, and the owner films it and posts on the web! Yes, I will stick with *censored*!! I'll admit it is kind of a funny clip though...

 Would you really film it and post it to the web though, if you weren't sure? I think that's where the *censored* part comes in. If your dog runs out, chases a fish around, you get a chuckle and move on, but this particular guy, goes and grabs a camcorder and starts filming away, all the while not even attempting to correct his dog in what I'm sure everyone here knows is at a minimum wildlife harassment. The other laws that come into play I can understand a little more where someone might not be up to speed on them, but the harassment law has been around a long time and applies to any managed species. At the very least it's very poor judgement affecting spawning fish in that way.
