I plan on hitting it hard for Bears in eastern washington next fall. I have an old sears and roebuck 30-30, great shooter, but is a 30-30 enought to take a bear?
-
Yup, keep it under 100 yds and be able to hit where ya aim.
-
I hope you mean 'Next fall'.. :chuckle:
30-30 has probably killed more Black Bear than any other rifle out there over the years.

I meant next fall. thanks for all the advise gentlemen.

30-30 will work just fine. Like any other animal, shot placement is the key. Bears especially. You need to anchor them quickly. Alot of times bears don't provide a real good blood trail. Good hunting to you.

30-30 will work, I shot my first bear with one, but it has close range limits. I would recommend a 7MM Mag or 300 Mag if you might have to shoot any kind of distance. :twocents:

Would love to go on a hunt with that guy. I have checked out a number of his other videos and he always seems to know where the animals are at.

:yeah: IMO, 7mm mag is the perfect black bear round.

30-30 will work just fine. Try the new Hornaday ammo. It shoots best for me.

It will do just fine. I also recommend the Hornady ammo.

ya if u use a 30-30 shot placement is critical and also how close they are & if u have to stretch out any distance then i would step up to a 7mm mag or 300 or 338 win mag
