Title: Urban Bobcat watching chickens
Post by: missfire on December 12, 2009, 07:57:42 PM
I caught this Bobcat watching my chicken coop. I have heard the coyotes and thought I mite catch one but was surprised to find a bobcat looking for dinner.  I live in Maltby (not far from woodinville) has anyone else seen bobcats in urban areas?

I have a friend that has got three in the last two years in Issaquah trying to get his birds. Sneaky and silent little buggers. His dogs tipped him off or he may have lost a lot of birds. I think they are cool looking little critters, just don't want any around my place :hunter:

Cool.  Sounds like a good place to do some chicken squawking.

Got a lot of them on Tiger Mt. I've lost a lot of chickens to the bobcats. Of course, a lot of bobcats didn't live too long to talk about it either.

They have been easy for me to pattern. When they get a chicken, they won't return for 3 days. Same for song dogs. Racoons will normally return every night but not if they ate an extreme amount the first night.

I could trick the coyotes into thinking there were no more chickens but couldn't trick the cats. Racoons had to be dealt with since there are so many thousands of them and people from the city trap them and dump them 'out in the country'.

There are a lot more cats than most folks realize.
