Hey there i am looking at getting a new barrel for my ar15. I plan on using it for varmint hunting/target. What length, twist, brand do you guys recomend??
-
7 or8 twist so you can get the heavier bullets for longer range for said targets shooting.
-
I agree with a fast twist for the heavies. On a AR for hunting I prefer a 20" BBL, anything shorter and I realy notice the muzzel blast.
-
If your looking factory barrels oly makes some of the best barrels, if not factory shilen. Id go 20" or longer if your not yote hunting in heavy cover, it gives the best velocity and less muzzle blast. As for twist id get 1in9-1in7 so you can shoot the heavy bullets if you wanted.

Luchi, I would highly recommend this barrel. It will do everything you want to do and more, just stay with 60 grain bullets max and you'll see exactly what I mean.
