Check out the big bull on the Photo contest on Monster Muleys. Great looking bull. I hope it hasn't been posted on here already. Almost looks like a baby spider bull.

That bull was taken up in the Colockum area. Nice bull!! I talked to the game warden a few days after the bull was shot. He said he talked to another guy who hunted the early archery spike only hunt and he got this bull on video just a few days before Brian shot it.
-
Yep, that thur is a monster bull! Congrats to the hunter
-
HOLY *censored*!!!!!!! :yike: Way to go Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
what a great bull, i don't remember seeing it before. man if those tines were longer might be a state record. love the sword points.
-
390 reasond to keep my head up about eating my elk tag this year..Thanks Bryan!
-
nice :cue:
-
i think there was a pic of that bull on here a while back, but it was the head and horns in the back of a truck. i'll look around a bit. dandy bull with a lot of character....
-
:dunno:
-
:dunno:
-
the top pic is from here and the 2nd one is from MM. the thread from here says that is an incentive tag bull...
i dunno...
-
He got drawn for the only rifle rut tag for the 328 unit. was not an incentive tag.
-
I dont think those are the same bulls. :twocents: In fact I know they are not. The lefts are completely different unless im missing something in the shots.
-
They look different to me. I know the one in the back of the truck has more points on the elks left beam on the right hand side of the pic.
-
I've had pics of this bull for a few months but never had permission to post them. Was shot in the nanaem unit right? One of the better bulls in the state this year!
-
That is absolutely the same bull. Look at the picture closer.
-
Not even close to being the same bull, guys. Look closer. There is no kicker off either G4 on the 390 bull and the G1, G2, and G3's are way different. Both killer bulls, but two different bulls at that.
-

That right there, will keep me applying for those bugle rifle hunts!!!!!
Nice pig of a bull!!!
-
Absolutely the same bull?? Okay, we'll look at the pic closer if you get your eyes checked. :)
-
My :twocents: say different bull look at his left side 4th's completely different. :dunno: No matter where either bull came from they are both awesome animals.
-
I just saw that pic and it reminded me of that other bull. i don't think it's the same bull either looking at them side by side...just reminded me of that bull from a few months ago.
both awesome bulls.
-
Couple of oinkers for sure!! Man, can Washington sure can produce some big ones... Hopefully it continues that way.
MS
-
Hunters should be happy with that bull :yike:
-
Great to see a monster like that come from the Colockum. I am not suprised, as I have seen some real dandys up there! Congrats to the hunter! Cant wait till I can draw a bull tag there!
-
Awesome bulls, good to see some pigs coming from places other than the Blues. nwhunter

Both great bulls and...
I continue to be amazed that 'Huntin' Fool' magazine (December, 2009 issue) and the Carters continue to insist that with respect to their {2010 Overview - STATE BY STATE} and their in-depth analysis of Washington on page 48..that "In regards to the deer and elk we recommend non-resident hunters ignore Washington due to the high non-refundable cost to apply and virtually zero trophy potential. We will cover Washington's sheep, goat and moose units in depth prior to the application deadline but will not cover the deer and elk units for the reasons just stated."
Guess they aren't paying attention to the record book or maybe the pictures of the great 2008 and 2009 bulls from Washington just haven't hit their radar screen yet.
-
It sounded good to me.. They can all go apply in other states and keep the big ones for us. :IBCOOL:
-
That is absolutely the same bull. Look at the picture closer.
No offense, but in order to keep yourself from looking stupid in the future, the bull from MM is a 7x7 and the bull in the back of the pickup is a 6x7. Good job.

Don't take this the wrong way, but...
...the last thing you want is for Huntin' Fool to start hyping Washington elk hunts. Why in the world would you want that? Do you feel disrespected in the whole 'next world record or bust' world that many have turned hunting into? That's dumb.
Huntin' Fool is a good resource (that I utilize), but it is not without it's shortcomings. One of it's biggest flaws is how it screws up the draw odds for the units it lists as 'best' for any given state. They jump dramatically for units that are new to their list (check it out if you don't believe me). So, is that what you're after? Branch bull tags are hard enough to draw here as a resident...
Huntin' Fool is one of many tools a serious OOS hunter needs to use in order to make good decisions. The best info in an issue of Huntin' Fool is often not what they print, though. It's what they don't...
Luckily, even if HF decided to hype our elk hunts, the way Washington hammers OOS applicants for $$ it wouldn't bring a bunch of extra pressure. Still, it's not something anyone should be asking for just because of state pride... :twocents:
-
Look at what HF does to draw odds, its terrible. Better to be under the radar screen, I wish they didn't cover WA at all personally.

Did I miss something here? I do not see where anyone says they want Huntin Fool to cover Washington more, just that he was amazed that they do not cover us more. But he never says that he is glad that they do not cover WA more either.
Just saying that sometimes we all need to re-read posts more carefully before going off....
Both bulls are nice.
-
I agree with Ridgerunner here, the less exposure we get nationally the better.
-
Have no doubt the Carters know all about our big bulls but when you throw WDFW nonres license and elk tag fees into the equation it isn't worth putting in as a nonres. They have to buy the license and tag and its nonrefundable if they don't draw. As a resident I think its great and I wish WDFW would do the same with the sheep, moose and goats and then Washington wouldn't even get one page of coverage in the 'Fool'. nwhunter
