Title: 338 Win Mag Winchester Brass??
Post by: Skinnyman on December 31, 2009, 05:57:16 PM
I bought 100 cases last spring and haven't been able to find any since (online or in stores). Does anyone know if they only manufacture this case once a year, or what the deal is. If anyone knows that would be great!!

I have found 1 package or remington this week, and I can now find Nosler, but haven't found any Winchester for the past 8 to 10 months. I havent tried other cases, but my gun shoots about 1/2 to 3/4 MOA with Winchester cases so why switch!!

Thanks!!

I see that www.midwayusa.com shows it being available as of 2-5-2010. I guess the 338 isn't the most commonly reloaded cartridge and they probably don't produce as much of it as they do others.

I did see that on Midway as well. January/February last year is about the same time I bought the last cases, so thats why I was wondering if they only made it once a year.

It probably isn't the most reloaded cartridge, but a Win Mag is one of the most popular 338 catridges (not sure how may of those people are re-loaders though). But on the other hand not a lot of people shoot/own a 338, especially when compared to smaller calibers. I have heard that once you get above .308 sized cartridges, demand for ammo and guns in those bigger calibers drops off like a cliff.

The .338win is pretty popular. I've found some bulk once fired stuff but in stores it's hard to find new

Have always used Federal brass, really have had no clue that there was none available out there though...  :dunno:
