The mystery bird looks to me like a Hungarian Partridge, or "hun" for short.

COOL! I googled it and it sure looks like it to me! He was with about 6 others, they all had their own little personal snow caves along the road. Hangin out for the gravel i suppose. Thanks! Ill pass this info onto my father.
