called a yote in this morning within the first two minutes of my first set. had kind of a awkward shot so i waited for a better one. he came running right towards the call at about 200 yards dipped down in a little depression and i never saw him again :bash: i know he didn't wind me but this is the first time Ive coyote hunted with anybody else and i think he might have seen my partner. didn't get on another dog all day but i sure gave it hell.

by the time i hiked all the way back to my "honey hole" i discovered that where the yotes had a den is now being logged. time to find a new honey hole i guess.

they can be pricks to get killed sometimes, i have done it allot thought wait for a better shot only to have them disappear :bash:

I went up to St.Helens today and managed to get one. I will try to post pics later. 5 miles and 4 sets only the one yote. It was a beautiful day out there :IBCOOL:

They won't move far.

It is tough. :dunno:

If you or your partner brought your gun up, it might have seen that movement. Try to identify the areas you might get a shot, prior to starting your calling. This help eliminate bringing your gun up and realizing you don't have a shot, and you identify where you should stop a coyote for a clear shot.

the solution is going to be hunt by myself like i always do. that dog didn't spot me and would be dead if i were alone.

yeah blame your partner :chuckle:
