Title: Mossberg 464
Post by: Skillet on January 11, 2010, 09:26:54 AM
I was wondering if anybody here had one and if they liked it.  I have been aching for a straight-stock lever 30-30 for a while, and the neighbor bought one of these last week.  Action feels solid, cycles shells very well.  Mickey-mouse safety on the tang, and the stock is birch and looks very cheap, though...  Looking for a good-shooting, functional open sights lever gun, so the fact it's drilled for a scope mount means nothing to me.  They were on sale at Big-5 for $399 ($499 reg price) - so I went down to play with one and they were out - but I have a raincheck.

So, it is worth $400?  Anybody buy one and regret it?  Anybody unable to live without theirs?

I've seen them in the catolog and I also thot they looked cheap.  I've never seen one in person though.  I'd stick with Marlin or look for a good old Winchester. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I'll probably end up going the used Win '94 route.  Should easily be same money or less for a quality firearm.
