Ok coyote hunters, this should be a fun thread and spark some friendly debate.
What is the smallest round you would find suitable for coyote hunting. Keep in mind, we dont want to be shooting the dogs 20 times to bring it down. I'm talking to smallest round that would still give you a good chance at that one shot, clean kill.

2 oz's of them works well up close

i have killed them with 22lr and 410 shot guns both close range and mainly head shots :chuckle:

.223 marginal round at best for coyote hunting :chuckle:

500 N.E. is the smallest caliber I would ever use. :chuckle:

22-250 that way you can kill close and far.

22mag,cause I have one.I met a guy yrs ago used the .17 and did fine..he was a good shot also..

Knife. Seriously though, .22, my buddy nailed his first with a .22 at 75 yards, you just need to know where to shoot.
