Traded in the old .243 today for a new Savage Model 111 .270 w/ Accutrigger. I think I may love this gun :chuckle:.

That should be a good rifle. I like the stock. I also like the cartridge, as that is about all I hunt with. But please tell me you didn't get the scope/rifle package deal? If so throw away the scope and get something that is reliable.

If it weren't for the package deals, where would we all get scopes for our 22s? ;)
That's a good looking rifle. Now all you need to do is get a few more barrels for it. Maybe a 338-06 or a 35 Whelen? Then a 6mm AI or 6.5x284? :chuckle:
Let us know how it shoots.

So wrong yet so true

I pretty much only use Nikon, so a new scope is a given.

Honestly, I've had pretty good luck with some of those package deal scopes. I put a Simmons on a 458Win Mag, just to see how many shots it wold take to tear it apart. I had 150 rounds on it before I sold the gun. The Leupold M8 4X that I originally had on there only last 100. I'm not saying that the Simmons was better, I just thought that it was kind of funny.
Now, back on track. Is your new Savage a center feed or the older staggered feed? I have both styles but like the staggered feed better.
