Title: MinnKota I pilot
Post by: kbyers on January 21, 2010, 04:36:15 PM
Has anyone tried it yet?  The Cabela's in Boise has them so I assume the other stores do too.  This is what I expected when I bought my terrova 80lbs thrust with co pilot and auto pilot 2 years ago.  I spent 1500.  The same model w/o co pilot or auto pilot costs 1100, the I pilot is another 400 and gives you a remote controll (co pilot) and enhanced auto pilot (auto pilot) kind of like a TR-1 for your electric.  Come on tax return, you are getting spent before I even get you :IBCOOL:

Sounds like a sweet setup, but I've found that the trolling motors with the least amount of electronics the better.  I am a big fan of cable driven trolling motors over digital controlled.  Remote steering can be handy if you have a use.  Minnkota's are hard to beat, but my old setup was a motorguide digital, so when I replaced it, I went with a motorguide TR-109 cable driven, so I didn't have to replace my gator mount with the differently designed minnkota mount.  You can troll all day on medium to high speed and still have plenty of battery left (36 volt).
