I don't know why they wouldn't. No snow. No wolves. No hunters... :dunno: Old age might get 'em...
-
Plutonium-239 might get em too..

I've heard rumors of wolves out in that area. Been there for over a year now

Seems unlikely, geographically speaking. I don't think they have made it that far south yet.

Right-on, that's a good bull elk. Welcome to the site, good to see more folks here with their pics and experience's. I enjoyed all of your pics, you can post more anytime.

Nice bull, I stop once in a while and look at them through my spotting scope, I have not seen them that close, there are a lot of bulls in that herd, and some nice ones.

That's a big bull
:yeah:

I would imagine if the wolves were in the area the local ranchers would have already piped up, I used to whack a bunch of coyotes near the "area". The ground is to open for them not to have been seen or shot.

Those elk are in much better shape and don't get run around all year long. They have more energy to grow big racks. We hunted them some years ago and they are truly so big that they appear closer than reality. We didn't scale ours but I remember another guy got a 4 point that hung 525#.
Sadly I also remember the WDFW rounding them up in a corral they erected and ended up killing some. Odd how things die when the pros@WDFW get involved. The Indians got the animals.

The Indians got the animals.
We gave the radioactive elk to the Indians? That's messed up. Like smallpox blankets... :tung:
