Is there a good place to hunt rabbits within a couple hours of Seattle?
-
I'm gonna piggyback on this one. I'm in Vancouver and am looking for a place for rabbit too.

With the mild winter it should not be hard to find them. We have done well by hitting rock piles and culverts along the rivers or snow shoes in brushy areas. Here's a teaser.

Another piggybacker here...
Is that West of the divide?
I've gone looking for rabbits on the west side and, in huntable areas only seen tracks once- so given up on the idea of hunting them over here.

Eastside. i don't know enough about their cycles, always see them at night sometimes it is early in the day. Other times middle of the day. Of course snow or mud can help initially find where to start. With snow you can see the fleas jump off like pepper.

I've been out to Shillapoo near Vancouver Lake and it looks like primo rabbit habitat out there with the high grass and big islands of blackberry bushes but I haven't seen anything yet.

Thanks, I just need to get out of the house. Going crazy.

I have seen a lot of snowshoe in the Snoqualmie forest. I have seen them along forest road 70 while doing some scouting for other critters.

I've also seen the odd rabbit or sign of them in the foothills of central Western Washington, i.e. GMU's 448 and 460. The trouble is that those sightings have generally been so far apart, it seems like the population is just too low to hunt productively or ethically. Just what I think I've noticed over the years.
Does ANYONE actually hunt rabbit in this area, and do they have any success?
-
I don't really hunt them but the spot I hit hard for bear last year had two or three around every corner for the first couple hours of light.
-
Fogger: Where is that. I take my .17 and practice on rabbits for them predators.. wanna go?

Isn't Yakima within 2 hours of Seattle? The reservation and white land both are loaded with rabbits. I went with a guy who has a beagle today. There were 4 guys and we killed 20 cottontails in 4 hours. I mean, from what they said that was a historic rabbit day, but still. There are a lot of rabbits
