Hi Gang,
Is it feasable to use pistol bullets for a muzzleloader and if so how do I do this....?
I just got a new to me Rem M700 ML in the .50 cal.
Can I use a .45 cal 250 grain bullet with a Sabot?
If someone could explain this, I would appreciate it....I am kind of suffering sticker shock from the price of some of these 50 cal bullets....
Thanks!

allot of people do it just buy the sabots and they will tell you the die of bullets to use most sabots use 452 which is 45 cal used in the 45lc and my 454 casull, but i would not do it you can find decent bullets for not to much money one of my guns came with some horn xtps in sabots they were not legal to hunt with but i put them on paper and was not impressed at all.

yes. most 50cal copper muzzy bullets are .45cal wrapped in .50 sabbot. whats the twist on your barrel?

Thanks you guys! My rate of twist is 1 in 28...I think.

I found the XTP hornady 44 cal shoot tight with lower charges like 80 FF out of my 1-28 twist barrel. I'm really exited my twelve year son will be joining me next muzzy season. Got him a youth edition knight wolverine this week and we will be trying it out soon with some low charges and the XTP's to start out. Can't wait!!! :chuckle:
