I didn’t either.  I drive by there often picking up or dropping off my daughter at Central.  What time do they feed?

They don't post their feeding times.  And they feed really far out so bring your binos.  It's not like at the Oak creek station.  The public can view their feeding but usually the elk are at least 2-300 yds away.

  What time do they feed?

I called and asked them a couple weeks ago, they said they normally feed around 8-9 a.m.

Call dibs on the sheds all you want, but unless you are one of the unscrupuless A-holes that go in there at night and stash them so you can go back in when they open the gate for the law abiding public and get them is the only way you have a chance.
Always see guys with pack frames full coming out of the woods, and only a few small ones pickup up here and there.
Same thing happens at oak creek..

People do that crap?!?!?!?! I was just joking on the dibs. I am planning on spending a lot of time up in the hills looking for them, but i am not going to the extent of trespassing and stashing sheds. Thats just nuts.

The elk are there all day, just head over and take a look, its at the L.T. Murry entrance.

Yup, heck they do it at oak creek, some guys get caught, but if you ever go there when they open it up for shed hunting, it is like a sceen out of mad max, horse's, 4 wheelers, guys running and in the end you might find a few, but you will see guys with a bunch and all nice one's...

How do you get there from ellensburg and how far is it from I-90?

If your heading from Yakima go onto I-90 towards Seattle and take the Thorp exit. there is a big fruit and antique stand on the right side. got to the stop sign and go left. go about 2 miles or so and take a right on thorp cemetery rd. follow it down about 5 miles maybe more till you see Watt canyon rd. there is a old farm building that is white. take a left there and head up the slight hill until you go across a KRD canal and you are there. There is a big metal building on the other side of the elk fence.. Start watching the hill sides. They have been feeding them on the right side a lot where the road heads up into the hills. Good Luck!

Dang, I hate when I open up what I think is a new thread and see a response from Coluckumelk.  Makes my heart skip a beat and miss his presence on the forum all over again.  RIP, Coluckumelk.  Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled topic...
