Title: Turnbull Special elk hunt
Post by: bowhunterforever on February 03, 2010, 04:41:24 PM: I know last year there was a proposal for a speical elk hunt for turnbull wildlife area. Just curious if any of you guys know if there going to have a special hunt there this year and how many tags there going to give out?

Turnbull is just south of Cheney Wa. Typically a waterfowl area, but lots of elk destroying the habitat. I think they would love to thin them out. Just need a politically correct way to do it.

Post by: shoot-em-dead on February 07, 2010, 04:34:49 PM: I talked with a guy that works out there this summer and he said that last year when the were having the concealed weapon on federal lands lifted it caused too much controversy to even push for the elk tags. He said if they do get them through it would be for youth, disabled, and senior hunts.

I did see a coyote out this morning on Turnbull and he just stayed mousing 100 yds from the main rd and didn't care that I stopped to look at him. :bash: Oh well, at least I know there is one left on this side of the state.

Awesome. Hope everyone that was thinking about putting in for a tag (if there ever is one) sees this and doesn't apply. Where's the 19000 page report on all the clean up efforts that have happened??? Without Nuclear Waste we wouldn't have Nuclear vessels protecting our country.. Which help make us the greatest country in the world. There's good and bad in everything. The general public is uninformed on the effects of "radioactive" material. Your going to get many more times the radiation living in Denver at 5000 feet than down wind from Hanford. :twocents:
