Semi new guy. Been sneaking around on here awhile, just havent posted much. I work as a medic in the Army. This has been my first serious year varmint hunting and boy do I have the bug. Have called about 5 in but so far no shot but each time have learned somthing new. Usually my son and I hunt but yesterday he stayed home so I left shotgun home and took 204 Ruger. Had a big male sneak around my backside no more than 50' away. Right when i saw him he winded me. I stood up to try for a shot, woofed at him and he stopped. Right when I was about to let fly he took off and no more shot. Pretty sure would have gotten him if I had of taken the shotgun. Anyway I usually hunt Capitol Forest which seems alright if you get off the beaten path...

Welcome. I'm guessing you're at Lewis? I don't care for the new Joint Base thing/name...
Ft. Lewis was my first duty station in 1978. B 2/39thINf next to Noble Hill. Looking to get some regular time off and whack some yodel dogs myself..
