I am curious if there are many turkeys around the Winthrop area or if they a pretty scarce. Any body have luck around there?

Hell yes there are! 3 weeks ago there was a flock of about 80 right behind the hatchery.

There are quite a few turkeys up around Patterson and Twin Lakes, but they are mostly on private land, and getting permission is hard. I got one on public land last year in another area around Winthrop, but they are pretty scarce. Personally, unless you can get access on the private land around Patterson, I wouldn't try it, there are much better places to go, with much better populations. :twocents:
