Picked up a Kimber Stainless Steel Full Size .45 Auto last week. A nice well balanced gun. I can't wait to get out and shoot it this weekend. Does anyone else shoot the Kimbers??
-
:)I shoot a couple pro-carry II's. 4 inch. full size grip.

dont have one at the moment, but have owned several over the years, cdp, procarry2, even the plastic frame doublestack, all with perfect function, and better triggers than about anything i've ever shot. i have seen one short kimber that didn't function right, but all of my full length guns were great, kind of miss them.

do a search for the tacoma PD test on them. :chuckle:
these are great 45's

I have a Custom II and love the way it handles and shoots. Great gun congrats. Mark

Here is my Eclipse custom II

I shoot a custom 2 full size in .45acp and its been flawless. very nice. mine doesnt like the blazer brass ammo but will eat winchester white box, rem green box and federal american eagle like no body's business. i followed kimbers break in prodecure of field strip clean and oil before the first session and field strip and clean and oil after every 100 rounds for 500 rounds.
my only advice is USE the tool they give you to get the sping stopper deal on and off. i thought i was tough and tried using my fingers only to have it slip out of my fingers and get launched at about mach 12 right into the middle of my forehead. i saw stars and had a perfect circular cut in my head for a week or so, damn that hurt!
congrats on a very nice piece, go enjoy it

elk311 - Nice gun!

Hard to beat a Kimber!

We have several guys and gals that carry the Kimber, every one of them I have shot are accurate and reliable. I carry the Glock 45 since that is what the bulk of our guys carry but would not have any qualms about carrying a Kimber.

I have a kimber custom 2 and realy like it.Reliable accurate and feels good in the hand. The one issue I have with this gun is rust.I've kept all my guns well oiled and have never had a rust issue, other than the kimber.I'm thinking about having it stripped down and having a better finish applied.

I've heard of this problem with other Kimbers... never had any personal experience with one though... I would rather have an XDM though... :chuckle: :chuckle:

I've shot em... don't own 1. Great gun! Don't fit my hand real well. If I find one that does, I will buy it.
-
Best gun I ever bought was a kimber. It is my carry pistol 4" in a high rise holster....works great.

I had an original Custom Classic with an 8000 series serial number. Sold that gun about 5 years ago and will regret it for life. Last winter I replaced it with a Custom II and it's a great gun as well. The fullsized version was getting to be a pain for concealed carry so I just ordered a Tactical Pro II. If the wait for the Pro II is the same as the wait for my Custom II I'll scream, as it took almost 6 months to get it last time. Kimbers aren't the end all be all of 1911's but it's impossible to find an American made 1911 with the features for the money. I'd love to have a Nighthawk Custom or Les Baer but I can't afford one, so it's Kimbers for me. I just make sure to replace the slide stop and polish up the ramp and throat and shoot em up...

My stainless custom II sports the older EXTERNAL extractor version of the slide. Works like a charm. ;)

Custom II here. It is my first pistol and has been good for me so far with 600 rounds down the pipe

Oh hell.. I've got more than 5,000 chunks of LSWC down the pipe of mine. :IBCOOL:
