Title: Good Old High School Friends.
Post by: Snowman on March 12, 2010, 08:34:37 PM
Well have had a face book account to find some old friends from school. Well an old buddy of mine found me. After talking figured out he lives close me to an use to work at in a sporting good store. Well the guy retired an sold most of his inventory. They were in the back of the storage room an found a wall of ammo. So needless to say got some ammo from him. He didn't want any money for it. So I invited him and his girlfriend up for dinner.  :brew: Here's to finding old friends and reconnecting.

I graduated in 96 and I can't beleive how many ties have been cut since school. I have seen and spoke with a few of them. I was on 1 trip to MI in the home town and realized after the day was out that I had seen a few of the girls I graduated with at the mall. I didn't talk to them but they looked familiar. After pondering it I pictured them going a full season of biggest loser and came up with two faces.  :yike:

Didn't mind it to bad. But had a lot of good friends when I dropped out and lost contact with.

Thats cool.
I have my facebook and mostly connect with my sisters and my brother I hadn't seen since I was about 13, I did find a friend I'd lost contact with about 8 years ago when I moved to Idaho briefly.
I didn't keep track of people from school we moved around too much I've learned to just make friends where ever I am at the moment or be content being alone.....

My 10 year reunion is this summer and I"m really looking forward to it. Of course there are people I'd rather not see there, but there's people I just got a long well with over the 12 years of primary schooling that I'd like to see again. Yeah, those who are true friends will stay in touch, but there's a lot of good relationships we forge in life that simply fizzle because people are like that.

As for Facebook, I'll pass on that. I'd rather stick to companies that don't have an established track repeated history of selling users personal information against consent.

I stay in semi contact with one high school friend, every time we talk, I hear about another one dying, down to two or three old friends left now. We don't talk about it much anymore. Time is a merciless taskmaster.

That's why I don't put everything on my profile. It's good to connect with my old friends. Had good relations with them in school an then I just vanished an lost touch. We were a tight knit group back in school. Good to see that most have stuck around the area. An can't complain when someone gives you free ammo and stuff.  :) Heck he gave the boy a case of 20ga. shells. Now my boy has 2 cases of shells lol. Well ought to keep him busy practicing up for next season.  :)

As I get older it woudn't be too bad for me to find a few old friends to see how they made out in life, if they're still alive or not incarcerated. I keep in touch with one school buddy in the Tacoma area. -And he is a true friend. Otherwise, it wasn't long after highschool that I joined the military and moved away.. Even though I've returned to the north west, I still still don't frequent the areas that I grew up. Some good memories, but many I'd rather leave behind. I was not a model student. I didn't enjoy highschool. Did a bunch of stupid things back then. I learned from them and try to live a much better life now.  No Facebook for me.

You know what I like about facebook? When someone who was a *censored* in school sends me a friend request I can hit the ignore button...........but I don't hold grudges or anything.. :chuckle: :chuckle:
