I've been wanting and wanting to do this, but haven't taken the time. Huntphool, here it is. The official 5 point thread. This is for REAL five points, not those darn eyeguarded 4 points. This thread is dedicated to those awesome 5 points that are out there. Those that are shot, those that are in the field and those sheds. I LOVE 5 points and seem to be what I shoot. Heck with those 4's. :)
-
Yeahaw, pics on the way!!!
-
Here is this years version, I know you all have seen it, but he deserves a spot.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv47%2Fboneaddict%2Fd1.jpg&hash=d34469a7b971f31bf5a3291242387b44c4c00dea)

Super bucks guys. Here is nice buck we passed on in Montana this year.

-
Good luck finding him Bone, nice buck for sure. No brow tines, interesting.
-
Huntinphool, why did you pass on that deer, just curious? We hunted very hard public and private land in Montana this year and never saw one quite as good as that on open land, covered hundred's of square miles almost every day.
-
Dman, it was not what we were looking for, his was nice but not wide enough and his mains were a little short. Probably only about 22" wide maybe 23"
-
Ok, here's mine...
This is the biggest 5 pointer I've seen in person up close. This one has to be 200"+...
This is the double beam buck. A neat buck. He is a true 5x5 with his 5th being a 2nd beam. One of my favorite bucks and very photogenic. I got 100+ great shots of this buck.

Shawn
-
Gosh Shawn do you have to do that to us...those bucks are just incredible..And to think we have 7 months left.....AHHHHH!!!!
-
Not mine, the stepdad took this buck in Oregon. Still a real nice buck!
-
Dang, you guys are bringing out the heavy artillery.
-
Indeed.....awesome bucks all around...are you sure that last one qualifies huntphool? j/k sneaky angle of him..... Awesome indeed. I think 5 points are the real mack daddies.
-
My uncles best from Montana.
-
A nice 5 we saw on safe ground.
-
you would have had to take my rifle to get me to pass that 5x, phool...thats a real cool buck.
yep the heavy artillery has arrived for sure.
bone, how wide is the wide one on the wall?? 32"?
-
Do stickers count?
-
great looking buck, ross...
yep they count if you ask me.
-
Passed on this one too Jackelope, and I would have had you keep your gun in its case until we found the right one, just because I know how guys get :chuckle: The first time I took my brother over he was ready to jump out of the truck the first heard we saw. I purposely held the shells so he couldnt shoot until I found one worthy of his tag, he thanks me to this day for teaching him to be patient over there, and he has always scored bigger deer than the ones he "likes" ;)
-
The 5th is short but there, gross score right at 180.....
-
Huntinphool, the bucks you posted are they all from Montana? They are good looking. My dad took me antelope hunting in Montana for my HS graduation. Its awesome country for sure. Pope, those are some awesome pics ya got there. That buck is a stud.
MS
-
Sorry about the small pics, not sure how to resize, got a brand new computer and camera software also. Here's my cousin's 5pt. whitetail from this season.
-
Most of mine are from Montana on a friends ranch. Here is another one.
-
my dads old hunting buddie just came over with his shoulder mount 6x6 whitetail.
its a main frame 5x5 with 8" eyeguards that hook forward. it is such an awesome deer. and i wish i had gotten a pic.
-
Dman, it was not what we were looking for, his was nice but not wide enough and his mains were a little short. Probably only about 22" wide maybe 23"
I want to be like this when I grow up! LOL
I am still impuslive and not that picky, LOL
-
All of these bucks are very nice. Keep them coming.
-
Dam nice looking bucks guy's! Wish I could post one!
-
Here's a 5X4 ( not counting those pesky eye guards) from Colorado. Not a great pic, but the best one I got with low light and a disposable camera.
-
Sweet buck, did you mount him?
-
"are you sure that last one qualifies huntphool?"
Man Bone show a little cofidence :chuckle: I wouldn't do that to ya, its actually the same buck my daughter is holding, just a bad angle. I thought I would show what it looked like from the side since she was holding it somewhat strait. Here is another angle, which you have already seen before but others may not have.
-
Bone...ya, I got him on the wall, but the wife is out of town with the digital camera. Todd Peyser is getting my pedestal finished and then I'll post a better pick for ya.
-
Nice buck Rubbles, love the front forks, those G4's look to be 10"
-
Their between 14 1/2 and 15" They definitely help his score.
-
you guys have seen it before, well some of you anyway but here he is again
-
Way to go Andrew, love that trident fork
-
I knew it was the same, but was harassing you.
-

-
Yeah, thats a nice CO buck Rubbles. What part of CO? I just went there for the first time last October. The fam and I spent ten days and drove around a huge portion of the state. I wouldnt mind living there someday, beautiful country.
MS
-
I took him in the North West cornor of the state. The closest town on the map would be Rangely. Love hunting that state, just wish I could do it more. Never know what you'll find hiding in the quakies.
-
Rubbles, that is a pig.
-
Do sheds count???
first is a 5X4
Second is 5X6
-
Digiscoped at 500 yards. Basically a 5X4. Sorry for the quality but I thought you would enjoy.
-
Damn nice bucks in this thread. My day is coming, it has to be, Karma is on my side...
-
Stickslinger, nice sheds bud but I love the shirt!!!!!!!!! :IBCOOL:
-
Hope your still watching that buck Stickslinger because I'm gonna draw that tag this year! :IBCOOL:
We may be able to work that big buck for big bear trade we talked about...
-
Absoloutely sheds count. I've got a couple more to add as soon as I get to it....Great additions everyone.
-
Awesome photo's guys! Wish I could contribute :(
-
Here's a pic of my son's 5 x 5 from '06, this was his first deer. Scott

Sorry about that, I wanted the pics to be open here without clicking the link. Let's see if I've got it right this time.
Still not getting it right!!
-
Allright, I'm gonna give this one last shot. Here's three in-the-field pics and one of the mounted buck. Scott

-
Liike the mount. Very clean.
-
Very nice Scott, love the dark cape.
-
These young hunters that shoot a big buck for their first buck are potentially setting themselves up for dissapointment down the road, its hard to top bucks like that. One of my first bucks was a nice 26.5" 4 point, i've yet to top that.
-
Here is an antler I walked by several years in a row. It was always under a snowbank. Finally in a dought year, I walked through and there it was. I would have loved to have found this one brown, or seen him on the hoof.

Another SE Montana buck, didn't pass on this one ;)
-
I can't let phool outdo me...
-
Damn huntnphool, if the back forks would have lined up on the otherside you guys would have had a "contender" there. One of the deepest forks I have seen. He might still be ahead Shawn, better post another one. ;)
-
I just had to show Jackelope that you have to pass the 170 bucks to get to the 180+, like I told ya Jack, I hold the shells on the first day and this is why ;)
-
Two more from 2005 WA general season.
5x4

hows about for starters i pass on the 160 bucks to get a 170. i sure wouldn't want to get to greedy ;)
we'll work our way up to the 180 bucks...howsaboutit??
-
You got it bud, will this one do? ;)
-
Awesome Butcherboy, I'm glad you got them in here. PErfect examples!
Huntnphool, I think that would just about make Jackelope crap his pants. You could probably even go a little smaller. NICE!
-
Here's a montana buck for ya...killed in 06...
-
Wow, nice buck Hogs, where about? Looks like its pretty high up.
-
That is a big sucker. Hey D-man, he might even be as big as those blacktails you are always talking about. Is that your Hog?
-
That is my uncles buck but didnt know if he would like his mugg on the net so i blacked out his face.....One broken point away from being the state record....Heck of a nice buck...Next time i am back there i will take a few pics of the mount....
-
State record? Wow what did it score minus the point?
-
Well, I think this post has pretty much peaked right there due to Hogsniper posting the biggest damn 5 pointer around. I'm not going to post any more 5 pointers as that one puts any I could put up to shame. Nice buck. :dunno:
-
You got it bud, will this one do?
yup
Huntnphool, I think that would just about make Jackelope crap his pants. You could probably even go a little smaller. NICE!
yup
-
I think it scored 210 or 211...I dont remember right off but do know that it is busted one side. It is a big fat nub that the other side is 9 inches...Other than that i am not sure...Still new to the scoring thing but i will see what i can come up with in the next few days....And he didnt enter this buck either..He is very modest about it and just enjoys chasing big muleys....He has tons of horns from over there...Washington is beautiful but would love live where i could chase those in my backyard...
-
Thanks Hogs, I would love to see a different angle, his left front forks look huge.
-
I dont have any other angles right now but next time i am over there i will get some....And sorry shawn for ruining it....Still wanna see somemore pics when u get time....
-
Ok, one more...
-
Gotta love those heavy, chocolate horned bucks.....Thanks Shawn!!!!
-
Thats a bruiser for sure Pope, love those dark Washington antlers, a nother one of mine, again not quite as big as yours but a decent example of a 5 point. Would you be okay with this one Jackelope?
-
OK the deer is real, but you look photoshopped into the picture. :)
-
I think its from adjusting up the saturation level to get the sky a little more blue. All the skin tones turn out that way and I dont know why, it doesnt happen on daytime pics only evening.
-
Would you be okay with this one Jackelope?
yup.
bottom line is i'd pretty much be happy with a nice representative 4x4 of the species...22+ wide, 4x4, you get the idea. i need a place to start...thats all.
get me out of this 3x3 slump i seem to be in.
i'm not asking much.
this year will be my year, i can feel it. mark my words. new hunting grounds this year, etc. this will be my year.
-
07 WA buck
-
Red Dawg,
That buck does it all for me!!!!! Who cares about spread. Love the MASS. That thing is a STUD!!!! Please post more pics if you have them.
Tony
-
Damn red dog, you've been holding out on us. I keep congratulating people on their deer, saying well thats one of the best, then you have to go and post something like that. WOW!
Thanks Huntnphool, I'll take it. :)
-
Anything for you Bone ;)
-
Damn Red Dawg your deer just kicks my ass everytime I look at it. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is another one of mine. Dark horned *censored*. I was going to mount him up this fall using Idabooners cape, but I had a change of plans.
Somebody let me know when they make snaring legal again. As you can see I am good and ready to go if they ever do.

-
Its a MOOSE!!!! :chuckle:
-
Thanks for the comments bone. He was killed just a few short miles from your house. Here is some more pics butcherboy.
-
Heres a Muley my dad shot in Idaho back in 88. Took it to the sportsman show, it grossed 165 and was 160 3/8 non typical
-
Might have seen you walk by this afternoon Clark33.
Great bucks guys. I saw a massive buck like that 2 years ago Red, wonder if it was the same fella. He had some bigger tines length, but it might have been this guy in his prime. COOL no matter what.
-
I would have liked to have seen him a couple of years younger. The biologist said he was about 9 years old. At least he got a chance to breed pleanty. He wasn't the one i was looking for as I was looking for a typical quite a bit bigger but he ran out in front of me and I could not pass him up. He just had way to much character. Thanks.
-
Het Clark33, nice buck for sure. It netted only 5" less? The one extra point on his left looks to be 5" by itself.
Thats a real toad Red, tell me you had that one mounted.
-
are you kidding me phool. I am counting down the days until i get him back. The fighting has begun with the wife as to where to put him. I think that everyone's photos are great. There are either some really good hunters on here or they are like me and get lucky once in a great while.
-
"There are either some really good hunters on here or they are like me and get lucky once in a great while."
There sure are Red, for me though its that blind squirrel saying :chuckle:
-
I found this 5 point today. Not big but still a 5. He even has a few eyeguards.Man it pisses me off when they break one side.
-
Nice find slinger
-
last christmas ('06), sorry for the quality, my old camera through my bino's.
-
whoops, forgot the pic
-
one more
-
I think i have his Father's shed slinger. I'll have to dig it out of the pile.
-
keep an eye on that buck, quacker whacker...he could go places, looks like a younger buck there. definite potential.
-
hes young, ive been looking for him again, saw a deer this year and he was definatly thicker. prob. the same deer.
-
Bone- I'd like to see it. Looks like he might be regressing. You might have this guys shed.
-
Great bucks
-
I still need to dig that antelr out...sorry..... Here are a couple pictures I found stashed away in my files at work. I think I have posted them on here before, but both are huge bucks as far as I am concerned....

-
Studs for sure Bone, the last one looks like he may even be a 6
-
Both those are monsters! :o
-
ya :o
-
Here is my 2007 5 x 5 Whitetail taken near Colville. Dressed out well over 200 lbs
-
Here's a big shed.....man I would have loved to have found this one as a brown. Its probably three years old, and the buck has long succumbed to a cat or old man winter.....He's borderline 6, but a strong 5.
(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv47%2Fboneaddict%2Fbonesbucks%2F5shed.jpg&hash=052fe1ef0e7efec670f155008f5b6e3b6c9d6114)

-
No doubt this was an old recessed buck. Not too many of them in Washington. i find their antlers are my ultimate finds or ultimate trophy. Any buck that can die of old age in Washington is an incredible animal.

This is one of my favorite sheds. I'll dig through the archives and see if I can find some ATLs. Never saw this felllow on the hoof.

Finished him up. For whatever reason, his cape was thrashed. I gues I figured freezer burn, then he had been fighting and then I was a little knife happy, then it was warm and he slipped a bit. Oh well. Finished him u goood enough for me...

I haven't forgot about you waslick....I'm moving my pile today I think, so I'll keep an eye out.
-
hmmmmm still can't find it, but here are two of my favorites that fit this category. The first one has stimulated MANY shed antler hunts. If you note the discoloration, the antelr was buried except for the exposed white. I looked down and picked it up and it just kept coming. I so long to find a brown antler just like this one. What an animal!

This antler was my first 5 point. It also has stimulated alot of hunts or dreams of big 5 points.

Alright what gives? Anybody else on here think Bones got a high fence in the backyard with about a dozen genetically altered bucks that only produce 5 points? I can't believe how lucky this *censored* is, :chuckle: that's all he shoots and that's all he finds is 5's. :lol4:
Well done Bone, talk about the Green Monster of Jealousy!!! :ass:
-
I think he's just reallllll good at photoshop :P
-
I think he's just reallllll good at photoshop :P
Hmmmmmmm, I did send him a copy of my CS2 a while back :chuckle:
-
I told you from the beginning before we started this thread that I seemed to have an affinity for 5 points. I think its the PERFECT deer. Probably started with those last two (not counting the desert 6) old sheds. Man those things have stimulated alot of dyadreams or nightmares. I have always wanted to kill a buck like that last big 5. I've come close a coupel times, but still after it. Maybe Montana this year. That photoshop does come in pretty handy. I have both programs from them. I use the simple one for most of my stuff for re-sizing etc, then if I click on a RAW image, it automatically bridges me to the CS2. Works great.
Someday you guys can all come over for a get together and get your hands on a few of these bones. Pictures DO NOT do them justice.
-
I wouldn't mine seeing this guy again this year. He's probably big enough to shoot this year, though he is not in the same area I would normally hunt during the opener. He might be worth pursueing though. Providing some lion didn't eat his ass. I haven't found his sheds yet though. Has cost me alot of gas.

I wouldnt mind seeing him either! so where did you see him at??????? ahahah :chuckle:
its worth a try :dunno: :chuckle:

Gonna have to do better than that MB91, although if you draw that raffle tag this year I'd be willing to bet Bone would put you on him ;)
-
I don't know, we got in so much trouble for that..... :) I remember a whole thread dedicated to how poor of sportsman we were. :chuckle: For Moss though, I might help him out, he has alot of local blood running through him.
By the way, that deer is alot closer to you than me. ;)
-
I don't know, we got in so much trouble for that..... :) I remember a whole thread dedicated to how poor of sportsman we were. :chuckle:
Unfortunately I remember, sorry about that 300!!! :bdid:
-
I just went through this thread again and I forgot one of my 5 points. HOLY BAT BALLS. How could i do that. Time to take more pics. I hink I even have a 5 point black tail and another set of blacktail sheds. How inconsiderate of me.
-
Ya ya, you just walked out back and picked them up out in the pen, your killing me. :chuckle:
-
One of them I did find out back. The damn dog hauled it off and chewed on it. You can see how I feel about those little blacktails. They just look funny on the wall when you have a bunch of muleys hanging around. The dog has got to have something to chew on. NOT!
I'm sure I'll take heat over that one. :)
-
little blacktails. They just look funny on the wall when you have a bunch of muleys hanging around. The dog has got to have something to chew on.
I'm going to get the popcorn, this is going to be entertaining :lol4:
-
Here is one I found this year, couldn't match him up :bash: My biggest 5 point, don't laugh bone
-
another angle
-
Bone Bone Bone. Dare I ask how many "little blacktails" you have taken?
-
Laughin' heck no. Thats awesome. Look at the moss on him. I don't suppose you ever saw him on the hoof. With his bases, the mass and the moss, and the tines the way they are, he might be going backwards. If so that is a REAL rare find in this state. He has the shape of being fairly wide as well, Too bad you didn't get the other side. Thats a great bone. Way better than these white ones I've been finding. Hopefully he makes another spring. Cool antler.
-
As a matter of fact I did see him alive from about 200 yards away but I had filled my tag already :'( The buck I got was a mid 160 s buck but this one was wider but crab claws, maybe next year :chuckle:
-
Two with blacktails, but only one that follows the map if you know what I mean. I'd sure like to get over there for some more. Truly a challenge. I had a big one I really wanted but I never got to him again. Michelle has those sheds now. I can't wait for her to get that mounted. Too many hills, so little time. I am truly a mulie addict and that doesn't help.
I was only kidding though, I deserve to get hosed for this one. Trying to stimulate some blacktail pics on here. There has to be some 5 points out there somewhere. I'll get mine on here as soon as I locate them.
-
LOL
-
Dang Rougheye. I'm glad you got to see him. If I'd have had a unnotched tag in my pocket I'd have taken him crab claw or not just for his mass and probable age. Nice antler. Do you think someone found the match, or jsut haven't located it yet. I know that area gets hammered.
-
Thats cool you can tell the area probably by the horn formation.Alot of them look like that up there. I think somebody found the other one because i went in Feb,and there was snowshoe tracks about 200 yds away. Yea, I would love to shoot something like that someday,I dont mind crab-clawes either.
-
Did you post pics of your 160 buck on here? Love to see it if you didn't. If you don't want to post them, make me sign in blood adn I can delete them after you send them. I'd love to see them in an e-mail.
-
I posted it a while ago, HaHaHa,very funny, you dont have to delete this one
-
I didnt shoot it that close to the road,we just dragged it there to get a picture out of the sun.
-
Rougheye that's a dandy! Looks like you made a great shot on him! How far was the shot and what broadheads do you use?
-
Jason,
I don't see a whole lot of sweat on your forehead, I don't think you had to work hard enough for that one. :chuckle:
-
THANKS ,38 yards and I use slick tricks. Got my elk, deer and bear with them and Im sold.
-
Actually,wea300, I had just flown in from AK and hadnt even unpacked yet. Guys like me make me :puke:
-
SWEET! I don't know how I missed that. Great job!
-
That buck is down at peysers taxidermy. Im sure you know where that is. Selah isnt that big.
-
Can't quite throw a rock that far but close enough to probably hit with t he 25-06.
-
Dont know if you have had anything done by Todd before but you will love his work. He does outstanding work. CAnt wait to see that thing mounted. Are you doing a pestistle or wall mount?
-
Pretty sure you have not seen this one before but I figured I would post it, it is an OP Upper Dungeness buck.
[smg id=2555]
-
There you go..fits perfect with the thread. Thanks for posting.
-
Heres a 5 point for ya Bone :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: I've seen it several times but I allways have to watch it again! :chuckle: :chuckle: it's like a car crash you cant look away!
-
Dang it...can't see it at work. If I ever make it home, I'll check it out. Of course I have been banned form this site at home. :chuckle:
-

Thanks bone - the nearly completed mount is in the O5' rafle buck thread under the deer section....if anyone is interesed :dunno:
-
Yep, its a cool mount...check it out folks if you haven't seen it.
I was going to add that mexico buck here, but its not really a local deer, so I'll leave it out. Its the kind of 5 point I'd like to see though.
-
man there are alot of nice bucks on here.
when will i ever get a chance to shoot at one that big! :bash:
-
great looking mount, well done!!!!
Cascade, keep putting in your time and effort, it will happen. Just remember, you will never harvest a mature buck if your always shooting the young bucks. Your going to have to take the chance of going without.
-
Bone I will have some good shots of this guy for you this year. He made ith through the season. I saw him while yote hunting in January. He will be a stud.
Sorry for the quality. The picture is a still shot from my video camera. I have about 5 minutes of him. The only way to see the left inline is from the side. He is a 5X5. The right one is a pincher at the top. I love is back fork depth.
-
Another crap photo but a slightly better look at the left side.
He would be deceiving from the front. You cannot tell he has good backs at all. Looks like just pinchers.
-
That's a STUD BUCK wastickslinger...is from WA
-
He is from washington. Near as I can tell he is young too. Hopefully he lets me get some better pictures this year.
-
Here is another 5x4. My dad killed this in montana quite a few years ago! Here it is

SWEET BUCK! IS THAT A LOCAL DEER OR OUT OF STATE? DANDY!
Its a Washington buck. http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,14399.0.html (http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,14399.0.html)
Nice buck Ryan, love the color on that rack it looks like a laminated stock.
Thank you. I really like the looks and color of his rack also..... thats what makes him unique.
-
You guys have great bucks!
I'll bite and throw in my :twocents: worth....
-
These are Blacktails from WA. & Ore.
-
Very nice Blessed, are they 5 points?
-
Blessed you ARE!!! Stand up and give :IBCOOL: you are blessed!!!!
-
Bow harvests all....there is the Ore. in velvet 3x3 w/eyegards then the rest are 4x4 with eye gards. 2 are national diamond buck winners ( an Archery award) There's one behind me that doesb't show , it's a 120 4x4. Two bucks were killed on Long Island back in the 60's & 70's . But none were the hogs you guys have killed ( body size)
Here's a friend from Eastern Ore.s buck with his daughter
-
Here's one of my Mulies
-
Blessed, tell me thats not you in front of that car.
-
Your buddys buck is a smoker. Someday i think you should post all your harvests. Great looking buck Blessed.
-
yeah... thats me when I was about 30. Hansome devel huh.. :chuckle: :chuckle:
The buddys buck was taken with the riffle. In Eastern Ore.
-
Here's a decent 5X5 I took about 10 years ago in E WA.
-
Nice Buck!!! Tell us the story?? :chuckle:
-
Well this deer doesn't match up to the GIANTS on this thread, but oh well. My dad found this shed in the late muzzleloader deer hunt, saw the deer the same day, and hunted it for three days to no avail. We didn't find the sheds the next year and we didn't see the deer again. Who knows what happened to it.
-
Thats a nice shed but I would have left it there to let it grow :chuckle:.
-
Mine doesn't match up to any of those posted on here, but it has the required 5 points on at least one side. I got him today with the bow. Could have shot a much bigger buck, but this one had a broken leg and wouldn't have made it through the winter.

I swore I would never register on this page but I can't resist. These are not blacktails. I don't care what you say. Nice bucks. I am not going to take that away from you. But........... not blacktails. Benchlegs, maybe. Even that is a push.
-
Todd that's a great buck you should be very proud. I'm impressed you passed up on one bigger and took him because of his leg. We need more hunters like you. You must have a nice honey hole. What type of bow is that?
-
NICE BOW KILL TODD. j

I don't know what your problem is... this thread is Re: 5 Points......(mule deer or blacktails). The bucks I posted would have had to be super bucks to get to mulies from the coast!
Tod thats a great buck! He does fit right in with these other bucks! Proud to see you did the right thing in tagging a wonded buck!
-
I know the picture is on page 6 of this post but no one would answer if I posted back there. Is that buck a "benchlegger" RedDawg? I'm guessing it's either Yakima or Klickitat County.
-

Pay no attention boys. This thread was meant for Muleys or blacktails. Even if a whitetail shows up I won't be concerned, but thats a normal buck, which is not what this thread was for. Ultimately I think 5 points (not counting eyeguards) is my FAVE. So thats why this thread was started.
I haven't seen Reddawg on here for sometime, but I can answer for him. Thats a Benchleg, shot in my backyard. ONE HELL of a buck. I am proud to have seen him alive, but couldn't get him on film. He is one of my all time favorite bucks. I am glad he was harvested with honor.
Glad you got your buck on here Todd.
That last shed is perfect.
-
This picture will end up being on this site three times, but I think this is the only 5 point I got on film this year.

Throwing this blacktail into the pile...hopefully I can post another photo with both of us together before 12/31. ;)
-
Thanks for adding him. Thats an awesome buck. How do his sheds compare from last year?
-
1st pic = 2006 left and 2007 left.
2nd pic = match set 2007 ATL
3rd/4th pics = on the floor side by side
-
Thanks boneaddict, was a general season buck or late tag?
-
That I don't know.
-
Hey looks like we have a lot more great bucks that have been added since last year. Nice bucks everyone. Couple of monsters as far as I can tell.
-
Wonder if his ears were burning....so is that a late tag Red? :)
-
YA it was a late tag. thinking about heading up there tomorrow, now that my wife has gotten over being gone for a month this year.
-
If its not a spike I won't shot it!! :) 5 pt blacktail would be my choice unless its 30+ mule deer
-
I have thought about going out there and looking myself, but they are sort of a rarity to be like that so I am jsut spending time with the family.
-
mule deer
-
DAMN thats a good one!
-
holy crap what a buck!!
got a story to go with that hogg? wa buck?
-
We were in montana and had been passing up lots of bucks and I kept telling my boy the old saying you can;t shoot the little ones if you want a big one. That story was starting not to work he was ready when we spotted fresh tracks and started following them and this buck stood up right in front of us. He shot and away it went and I could;nt tell where he hit it but with fresh snow it made it easy to track and it only went about 50 yards. The body was really big and the horns measured a little over 30 inches. It was really fun being able to take my boy to montana and to be able to see so many nice bucks and actually turn down nice 4 points in order to get a trophy.
-
Well that sure is a trophy.
-
Nice buck for sure
-
The one on the left should classify!
-
Amazing! Both are awesome bucks!! I think you better reinforce that wall. :yike:
-
Here is my 2001 Blacktail. 5 on the left side not counting the eye guards.
-
Nice BT. Real heavy and dark horned!
-
I have several more pics of this guy but this is cool, about all you can see are his 5 points
-
Here is a nice buck
-
The one on the left should classify!
Good ol' Methow Valley Genetics right there!!!
-
Here's some live Oregon bucks, some of the very, very few decent bucks we have. ;)

-
What's that trophy doin pinned to a garage wall? Iy should have some fur on it an dit should be in your man room!!! :)

Really nice pictures Ricochet. Love the lip curl. I missed the rut this year and won't make the mistake again...
-
Last year Montana 4x5
-
bow-n-head,
Another great buck, you're the man!
Thanks Shawn,
We will get together next November for sure, looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll have my 200-400vr by then so I can keep up with you guys.
-
M_ray I didn't have it mounted because it means just as much to me were it is as if it were hung in the house. That said I do regret not having it done and will probly have it mounted in the future.
-
-
awesome buck bow and head.
-
Damn this thread is good stuff. What a whopper! and Richocet's awesome pics. 8)
-
Great bucks everyone...Dang bow-n-head, you've knocked down some nice deer.
-
M_ray I didn't have it mounted because it means just as much to me were it is as if it were hung in the house. That said I do regret not having it done and will probly have it mounted in the future.
:) That's such a nice blackie and with a bow!!! You know that in the Big Game record book of WA the minumum requirements for Archery Blacktail are 90 inches? You should have it done officially it looks like you'll barley sneak in almost 30 inches over!!! :chuckle:
-
I did have it score and it is in the Pope and Young records book. I feel so blessed to have taken such an awsome trophy. I am a meat hunter and I will take the first mature animal I have a chance at, so I never thought I would have a chance at one like this. I won't shot a doe untill the last few days, but I have no problem doing so. I have found a great hunting spot were I have seen several bucks of this quality and bigger. I had a chance at one this year that would have scored better than that one, but he pegged me at 50 yards, and I just didn't practice enough this year to take that long of a shot. So I sat down and watched him walk away.

Very cool! It sounds like we can look forward to some great hunting stories from you as well as seeing your name in the books! I know what you are saying I love the meat too and have a hard time passing any mature animals ... but with that bow they are all trophy's IMO!
-
This is the first of my two true 5 pts. I will have to look for the pic's of the other one.
Sorry for the blurry pic.
-
That's a sweet buck wapitihunter. 8)
-
Yeah a couple more years and he would have been a real pig. Small frame but alot of character.
Thanks, he is my best.
-
Here is the other one. Some have probably seen this one before.
True 5x5 no eye guards.
-
The one on the left should classify!
Holy mainbeams batman!!!! That buck on the right is sweet! What do those things measure???
Michael

Not my picture, but the email I got said this was recently taken in eastern Montana. If I only knew exactly where

Wyoming
-
I grew up hunting antelope around Broadus, MT (SE corner) and have seen bucks like this. I remember the brag boards at Scheels and Big Bear would have big non-typicals from that area. Good genetics.
-
I like this 5X5, definitely more unique than most.

Those double drop bucks are awesome!
-
Here is a bump for a great thread, ....
this should help get the blood pumping for season! Enjoy! I hope to see some members update this with more 5 pointers this season.

Lemondog....that buck is awesome. Especially like the Washington tag on it, was it a permit buck or general?
-
Here's two true 5 point Muleys I have hanging in my "hunting room."
The one on the left I shot in 2002. The one on the right I found sitting in an old, collapsed barn as a kid.
-
Hey agchawk, Is that a washington jackalope you have hanging in there? :chuckle: Nice hunting room.

Hey agchawk, Is that a washington jackalope you have hanging in there? :chuckle: Nice hunting room.
LOL....sure is!! I know I've posted this pic before but that is my youngest son's "trophy."
Long story but he was too young to hunt then so I set up a small target range behind my house and allowed him to belly crawl from target to target with a BB gun. He did great and earned his "trophy" that day. Of course, I had to take field photos too...LOL.
-
NICE....looks like a trophy to me.
-
336 last weekend. The one on the left is a nice deer, the one on the right is new too me but the 4th time I have seen the left one.

I was hunting with my dad and my brother north of Colville. We got to the top just after daylight our last day. I kept hearing a noise coming from the canyon below us. I spotted this guy trashing a small fir tree, after I shot a smaller 4pt ran out and we got him too. We started with the smaller one skinning and boning him out, my brother and I packed him up to the ridge while my dad started on the other one. When we got back we finished with the bigger buck and packed him up to the ridge. That's when the work began because we had to pack both those bucks over 3 miles back to camp. By the way they were halloween bucks. Oh to be 24 again.

And what does any of that have to do with this thread? :o
-
I think he was trying to post a 4 point in this thread awhile ago, and he got spanked for it and reminded that all true muledeer hunters know what a 5 point muley is......something along those lines. :chuckle:
-
no i wasn't trying to post a 4 point in here and i put that in here cause the first post says "not those darn 4 points with eye guards" and the regulations say that an eye guard counts as a point. Dont get me wrong i love a nice 5 point but a 4 point with eye guards is still a 5 point
-
Not mine, but a buddy's Nd Mule take this year on thanksgiving day. Makes ya
-
Sorry Nimrod, I thought that was you. As for eyeguards.......UM NOPE. :chuckle:
South Dakota. I need to go there badly.

Bone, that would be North Dakota.
-
Is that what that N stands for :chuckle: I had South on the mind as I was just reading about geodes and Thundereggs out there on the Wyoming border. I was thinknig....man I need to go muledeer hunting and look for rocks.
-
I am sure that there are some real nice ones in the South as well. I have been trying to get a close up of the 8x5 I found 3 days after I shot my 4x4. He hasnt been shot, but is laying low now that the rut has come to an end.
-
a 4 point with eye guards is still a 5 point
Not in this thread. ;)

That is one hell of a ND muley, but what the heck does it have to do with this 5 point thread? :dunno: :chuckle:

Love that pic Bone.

Actually a 4 point with eye guards is exactly that... a 4 point with eye guards. This isn't Ohio where you count every sticker/ bump. :chuckle:

Here is a five point from last year.

And one from this year. Horrible picture though.

You know where to find em link.

My oldest buck. The meat was terrible. :o
Nice buck  but it wouldn't have anything to do with it clearly being warm out (sleeveless shirt, 70's porn star sun glasses and feathered mullet :chuckle: ) and the hide still on it after your drive to the house? :dunno:
Just wondering.

Mullet?! Bite your tongue, young man! :o
Wasn't as warm out as it appears and that deer had only been dead for about 2 hours before I skinned it. You guessed it, this was the only day I've ever forgotten my camera in the field so I don't have a pic in the field. The meat was bad because the buck was very old. Body was huge. This pic gives a little better perspective next to a young buck.

It's the lighting that's making them look bleached. I haven't had them out in the sun much. Plus they weren't as dark as the first picture made them look.
-
I see. That first picture made them look real dark. I had to look twice to see if it was the same buck. Awesome deer!

Never thought I'd contribute to this thread being a first legal buck kinda guy..
Very thankful to have the opportunity to harvest this awesome animal and share the moment with my dad who was a ridge away. This buck was like a horse (I'm 6'4" 240 so mess up the scale of any photo), with a lot of character. Only legal deer I saw in 7 days of hunting. Neck shot that got the jaw made him hard to photo.

Welcome. :hello: Should be several blacktail threads, the search feature is your friend. AS far as posting pictures, too large of a file/size will not work, they need to be resized to 600x800. or take a screen shot of phone pictures then post them with attachment box below.

Well it's taken me a couple of days but I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at all these bucks!! Thanks to everyone who posted, hopefully a few more will be added this fall.

I don't think I ever added this one to the thread, I guess technically it would count if it includes trash points. Is trash accepted here? :chuckle:

I really do not know what I am doing. This site for me is really hard to navigate. My pictures are in my windows photo gallery. How do you get them on here.I know I can email them as an attachment
but I am guessing there is another way for this site.I put blacktails in the search and this what comes up..I hope I can figure it out..
-
deerhunter1 Use the search on the menu bar(3rd one in from left) type in blacktails and 50 threads will pop up.

Tried that and this is all that comes up.I guess I am too dam old to navigate this site..
I got on here because I am going to have to get rid of some Blacktails from long ago.
Record book stuff and I was hoping to find out their value..I have no problem in other forums putting in pic,s .It took me 2 hours to get back here after I hit that search..

Never too old Deerhunter 1.
Resize the photo by using windows paint program if it is a large file ( 2+ Megabytes?) . (Type paint in the Start Box - Choose Paint App) Open the photo you want to resize in Windows Paint, then on the menu bar, pick resize option in the upper left of the menu bar. Choose pixels, then input something like 800 X 600. Once you put in the first value, it will modify the second to keep the aspect ratio correct. I think you can get away with numbers up to 1200 X 900 or a bit more before this forum won't upload the file due to it's size. Save the resized file to a place where you can easily locate it on your computer, and give it a easily identifiable name. I use Desktop.
Once the file is resized, hit "reply" or "Quote" to any thread or comment you want to upload a picture to. Underneath the text box on the left, click on "Attachments and other options", then Choose File. Using the browse function that comes up, locate the file you want to upload and double click on it. If you have more than one photo to upload, after you've identified the first file, look below that box for More Attachments (in parentheses), additional boxes appear for you to identify other files to upload. Hope that helps.

It took me a week to find my way back here..Sorry
At one time I had 3 of the top 10 in the record book plus a couple near the bottom.I thought maybe the guys might like to see them ..Some go back 60 years ..but since I can not figure out this site..Don,t get old its no fun..
Maybe if I give an email address I could send one as an attachment.and someone put it up for me

I've watched this dude go from a forkhorn to this 4x5 in about 4 years. He eludes us every dang year. Only coming out at night. He does have crab claw fronts, and it's hard to see on the video, but he has one sticker point that makes the 5th point. Big bodied Blacktail.

Nothing big like others but it is a 5ish muley I got a few years ago now. It is the biggest mule I have gotten, and it was an early muzzy buck. I like the fact that it is palmated on the one side. A couple views so you can see the uniqueness that I like.
