Title: Clean Pistol Powder Question???
Post by: PA BEN on March 27, 2010, 09:18:37 AM
I'm reloading for 45 ACP. I'm using Win. 231. My gun is black as hell from shooting. Is this just normal? I also have Unique but haven't tried it yet. I've heard some powders are cleaner then others. What you say?

I have always used Bullseye, not the cleanest, not the dirtiest burning powder, but the load is very good, for cast SWC.

:) I also use a lot of Bullseye for lite loads. I find it pretty dirty.  Mothers Mag Wheel cleaner takes that black off real easy on stainless guns. makes them look brand new.

it is pretty normal, allot of fowling is not uncommon. try the unique is a great powder and i bet it should be a little cleaner as well.
