Title: Charter boats out of Ilwaco?
Post by: Blsum on April 01, 2010, 09:49:08 AM: So one of the guy's here at work was asking me if I had ever been on a charter boat out of Ilwaco. I haven't but I told him I would look into a few for him. Does anyone have any recomendation's? He's not sure if he want's to go bottom fishing or salmon fishing. Also what would be the best time to go? Thanks

I have fished mostly on the Four Seasons in the Seabreeze fleet and always done well. I have fished on the Sea Venture in the Coho charter fleet and always had a great time! I can say, these guys know how to catch fish. I have fished salmon as many times as I fished sturgeon, and had many great times.

We rented the whole boat for our boy scout troop and caught 5 salmon on the whole boat :bash:

Our captain was not to personal with anuone and i do not feel he put in much effort to get us on to fish.

I will not use themn again/

Sorry, kinda butcherd that......What I wanted to say is.... I have heard stories of folks taking home a limit of fish, some fish that they did not catch, as boats will keep everyone fishing till the boat is limited. Every time I have gone out, I have taken home only fish that I have caught, that goes for family too.

We stopped using Pacific Salmon charters. If you aren't with a corporate group, you ain't catchin squat. You get the part=time cap't and crew. :bdid:
Salmon sucked so bad last year. The deck hand wouldn't net the fish--we lost 5 keeper fish thanx to her. the skipper wouldn't kick the boat out of gear when a fish was on, so you fought your diver more than the fish :bash:, by-by fish. I got my 2 after 23 short fish.
then the deckhand called the cap't some ugly gutter names in front of the clients. hmmm her tip jar went empty at the end of the day. Wonder why?

Sorry I'm still pissed. >:(
