Title: Tackle Bags / Boxes
Post by: JoeVon on April 02, 2010, 10:15:46 PM
I just replaced the standard VMC treble hooks on most of my Wiggle Warts with Owners and was curious as to what you guys are using to store your plugs to keep the hooks and lures themselves from getting beat up and rusty on you?  I'm using the clear plastic trays now, so each plug has its own spot,  but they obviously aren't cutting it.

Check out the falcon line of products, do not know if they would make one the size of wiggle warts. But it stops them from keeping beat around quite a bit. I put silica in all my boxes to suck up any moisture. Also if I have used a lure will leave it out until I know it is dry before putting it back in the box and causing moisture in there.

Falcons Spinnerbait box might work, i just wonder how many wiggle warts i could fit in there?

This one looks like it could work too, though I'd have to find another tackle bag.  I'm looking for something that would be versatile enough to carry spin glo's, corkies, hooks, lead, (all the plunkin goodies)  along with the plugs.

I would lean more towards a bag like this then, has it's own individual compartments and pretty light weight, I am sure you could put a couple of warts per pouch in it.

They are called NUWave, it was an entire system.

I'd imagine these owner trebles would go through the plastic bags...

Do you store plugs or crank baits in yours?

on some of them yes, if you buy the hook system that lock your hooks into the baits they will not go through the bag. You can see it on some of teh front lures. It locks the hook up tight to teh lure and are adjustable. You can store 4 or 5 lures at a time and just pull one out and the hooks are not all stuck together.

Dang, I like that one you just posted.  I wonder if you can get those individually from Nuwave?  I'll have to go look.

If you can't send me a PM, I think I still have two bags. I can show them to you. I am mostly using the falcon systems now.

Sounds Good...  I'm gonna check out that Plano FlipSider box too.  It looks like it could fit in my existing tackle bag/rag...lol.  Thanks for your help!

For carrying all my mag warts and extras.  I use a Plano Over Under.  Works great in a boat, or bank fishing either one.  If the car is close, I just put a few plugs in my jacket pocket (with hook guards in place) and leave the tackle box in the car.
