STILL wondering what is taking so long!
Anybody else get their packet yet?
-
Nope, well maybe when I check the mail today I'll have it, or maybe the next day, or maybe the next day, or the day after that. :chuckle: It's taken quite awhile compared to last year.
-
No packets because the bears are all gone.... ;)
-
Well that sux then, sorry you wont be able to fill your tag then if there isn't any bears left.
-
No there is 1 left.... and he is mine! LOL I expect packets in the next couple of days, as we can get the key from DNR on the 10th.

Do we have to pick up the key from DNR in person? Fee is $?.. first time going up there.. what are the roads like, I assume good clear cut? Any idea to approximatey how many acres? Wondering also if anyone knows how real busy its going to be. I imagine everyone will be bringing someone with them.. I hope people are not going to be bringing a huge hunting party? Does DNR have any restrictions like the other companies do as to whom you can bring with you?

$100 deposit from what I have been told. Lots of snow up high right now, 1000+ ft level. Don't know much else.
-
Thousands of acres. Dont know how much but there is a lot of land to hunt. Lots of room to play. Wont be too busy. Watch for loggers. Not that many clear cuts from what I know but I haven't seen the entire area either. You have to pick up the key anytime after the 10th at the DNR office. The key charge is $100 and they will give you back your money upon return of the key.

Im bringing the whole crowd for this hunt! Gonna have trail cams on all the good areas and my buddy's blocking the rest!!! Good luck all!!!
-
FYI, they dont even cash the check if you bring the key back in time. Good luck!

Do they hang on to the check until May 31st then?

Recieved my packet today! Keys wont be ready for pick up until the 13th, as stated in the packet that I recieved.

Got one but didn't receive any map. Did you get a map SuperDave?

yeah.. I did not receive a map either.. according to the paperwork they sent:
Grandy lake and Sierra pacific: "Vehicular access is permitted on properties identified on accompanying map within GMU 418..."
We pick the maps up at the DNR region office?
-
If you read through the paper work, there is a website that has the bear ID video which also access's a page for the hunts, where there is a small map of the area. I believe we will also recieve the same map when we get the keys! The area is basically due north of the town of Hamilton and encompasses sierra pacifics land. Hopefully that helps!
-
Yes thanks. I kind of figured it was between hamilton and concrete. I'll have to take a moment later this evening to actually READ my packet information like you suggest.

Hey justin, I thought I would help you out, so I took the batteries out of your trail cams so the battery wouldn't go dead, and I paid off your buddies and they told me where all your honey holes are. :chuckle: See you up there.
