To see the approval of the new regs? See if maybe the commission votes down the change in the draw procedures..
-
Anyone??
-
That is why we "get what we got". :bash:
-
Everybody is going to be turkeyhunting!Thats why theres a meeting :dunno:
-
The meeting was last weekend (Friday and Saturday.) Going to this meeting would not have made a difference anyway. The changes to the permits and regulations had been decided long before last week, more like LAST SUMMER. Then, apparently, is when we needed to be going to meetings and writing letters. But, the WDFW failed to notify us of the strong possibility that there would be major changes that would affect us in a negative way.
I am going to pay more attention to their meetings from now on, and also the notices they put up on their website regarding proposed "rule changes." One thing we do know now, is that if they are sending out emails telling people that they are accepting public comments on one of their proposals, it is TOO LATE and it is no longer a "proposal."
-
WDFW :pee: :pee: All they care about$$$$$$ So now what :dunno: Do we all rebel or do we buy into there BS and buy there tags and permits? :dunno: You guys tell me?
-
No I think you should just bag hunting and fishing all together!!

Good point and thanks for being the go to guy on this stuff. Keep us informed. Thanks.

all any state agency in washington cares about is money, they all have to help the grinch make the taxpayers fix the taxpsenders screw ups. so now what? well that i think is a matter of personal opinion. if anyone is that pissed at the fish and game then they will boycott hunting all together this fall, me personally will not be putting in for more special apps, i sat down with my father and explained the new system to him as best i could and he said screw it, we decided that the extra money we both would be spending on special draws here would be better spent elsewhere, we both are going in on a pheasant hunt in south dakota instead of dropping it here
-
I don't think the new system is as fair as it could be, and I think it's a lot more complicated than it needs to be, but I don't hold it against them for trying to bring in more revenue. And if people don't want to spend more money they don't have to, you can still just apply in one category per species. However, I will be taking full advantage of the new system, and will be purchasing 4 applications for deer, 3 applications for elk, and 2 applications for moose. So my cost for special permit applications just tripled and I'm sure the majority of hunters will do the same. Your trip to South Dakota is going to be a whole lot more money than you would have spent on a few application fees here. I'm spending my money in this state because I can't afford to go on any out of state hunting trips this year.
-
You can put in for 2 apps for moose, What if your youth or disabled 3 apps? You get a chance to put in for cows tags and any moose tag now?
-
Yes it appears so. My dad will be applying for moose permits in the "Any Moose," "Antlerless," "Senior," and "Disabled Hunter" categories.
-
I kinda like that idea, Now i dont have to worry about burning my points on a cow tag.
-
It's ok for those of us with lots of points (I've got 14) but it will really make it hard to draw an antlerless moose permit. Everybody will be putting in for them now.

As long as you dont get drawn for 2 catagories and have to persuade DFW that it was a mistake that you put in for one of them to restore your points in the catagory that is your second choice, since you can only kill one animal.

Sounds like the commission approved the proposal, eh??? :bash: >:(
