Title: question about reels.
Post by: Black Plague on April 09, 2010, 12:55:56 PM: So my buddy is having a rod built and now wants to get a decent spinning reel....he is looking at the Quantum Energy PTi's ....now I have heard really good things about them but was wondering what size would be good for bass, walleye and the occasional trout. the 10, 20 or 30 model is what he is questioning...thanx in advance

Post by: teal101 on April 09, 2010, 01:59:18 PM: 20 or 30. If he goes with line bigger than 10 I'd recommend the 30. i use a Shimano Symmetre 3000FJ for bass with 12lb line.

feels the best on the new rod. I like the 20 pti Catalyst.
100 yds 8lb. get lots of line on them. a lot more if you
use pro lines
