Title: Gunsmith for 1911 Sight Work
Post by: TribalDragon911 on April 11, 2010, 03:20:44 AM: Looking for some advice on a gunsmith in the Walla Walla area.
I have a mid-90's Springfield 1911A1 That I want to put night sights on. I can see that the rear sights will pop out. The front sight looks fixed to the slide. Google search was no help for gunsmith in my area.

Post by: Huntbear on April 11, 2010, 12:53:59 PM: The front site is staked in place. The best fix is to have a gunsmith remove the site, and cut a dove tail and put a new site in there. Then you can change them or adjust it with a hammer and a brass punch. Do not know of anyone doing it in the Walla Walla area though. I run Novak low profile combat sights on mine.
