Now I am looking for seats if anyone has any ideas, trying to keep the cost down as much as I can but don't want to go "cheap crap" if you know what I mean. Next I plan on mounting a 20 gallon FW tank under the bow I got from an old RV and the 12v pump so I have FW to wash up with !!
-
Nice, what did it cost ya?
-
Looks like a lot of potential there, Robodad...way to go.

Thanks Josh, Had to go to Idaho to get it but well worth it, it's a 1985 21' Glasply with out a cuddy cabin which is quite rare from what I have seen, most of the 21' footers have a cuddy and hard top and are butt ugly IMO, I found out the top is going to cost me as much as the boat did :yike: but it will be a nice fishin boat when I'm done !!!

If you are staying with the same style I'd at least get a quote from a local upholstery shop.
I have had good experience getting stuff redone. New foam and covers if the frames are still decent.

you don't need a top, just bring an umbrella. :chuckle:

attach rod holders to the seats and put umbrellas in them. That way I can hold my rod instead of your umbrella... :chuckle:
the craigslist seats look like a great fit for that boat as long as the dimensions work out.

LOL !! :chuckle: Great Idea, there will be no holding each others rod in my boat !! :chuckle: I think I'll just get a top for it that way the rod holders can be used for rods !!
Oh yeah those seats would be perfect since there is really no other place to put gear in the boat except in the sides and that just isn't good enough, Dry boxes with seats is the way to go I think !!

It will be well worth the drive to go see dave in Longview. Youd be amazed at his pricing.

Good Deal, I would love a project like that, hay I hold the umbrella if I can hold my rod in the other hand :chuckle:

Looks like a fish killer to me. Where do you fish?

Good question, Lately I have been fishing everywhere the fish arn't so thats a bit of a problem, I am in Port Angeles so I fish the peninsula mostly but have been dragged down to the columbia on occasion, I know the peninsula (Port Angeles & Sequim) fairly well but I bought the boat to fish for walleyes on the Columbia and anything else that bites and I am quite certain I'll go other places as well.
You want to take me to your honey holes ?? :chuckle:

My uncle lives in PA and fishes alot of halibut and salmon there but if we are really going to fill a boat we go to LaPush Good luck with the boat. What is her name? (Bad luck to have a boat without a name Forest) :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
How about "Red Sky Night"
-
Sounds good but the boat and motor are blue?
-
OK how about "Middle Finger" then ??
-
Maybe "Bad Luck Is Still Better Than No Luck".... Good find for sure... Better hurry Halibut season is around the bend and I heard of this guy that lives in Port Angles knows a couple holes, or at least put ink to a map once...

Those 21' hardtop Glasply's may not win any beauty contest but they are a great boat/hull. I've run charter boats in Ak. for 20 years and during that time I've run a 21' Glasply (Alaskan bulkhead) 25' Proline, 25' Renken, 26' Olympic and 22' Olympic as well as a couple aluminum hulls (apples & oranges there). I felt safer and had more confidence in that Glasply in rough ocean water then any of the other boats other then maybe the Olympic, but the Olympic was the roughest riding mofo I've ever been in so I wasn't a big fan.
I would love to find an older Glasply as a fixer upper project. :twocents:

OK here is the before and after shots, I finally got all the seats in after an extensive round with the company and shipper, I actually ended up with 9 seats when I only ordered 4 but I just chose the best 4 and put em in !!!
