Spotted the tracks, put down the pack, sniff, sniff take some pics. Upstream of Timber Lake on the Junjik.
On a small hill between the Gilbeau drainage and the East Fork of the Chandalar. I got out of my tent. Burped, scratched, tooted. Turned around and saw a honey blond freight train coming at me from 300yds. How much can go through your mind in a second? She wasn't after me, never saw me, was chasing ground squirrels. Put on a show for her cubs, Pint and 1/2Pint. They spooked as they were headed off and they all bolted.
