Anyone know if its legal to plant a food plot on DNR or state land? Obviously I have some time on my hands on the weekends and want to try a little project with a half acre or so food plot. I'd like to plot (no pun intended) the results of my project on this site with pics and trail camera pics etc
If you can plant a plot does anyone know if there is a limitation as to the type of forage you can plant.

No. The DNR intensely manages vegetation on it's lands for certain objectives, consider it equivalent to planting on someone else's private property. That said, you could contact the DNR and find out where they have planted forage plots and possibly even get in on some volunteer forage plot work so you knew first hand, good resource.

I thought that may be the situation. Thanks for the heads up. Dont want to do anything to piss them off I do enjoy accessing the land. Thanks again.
