Title: simmons 44mag scope?
Post by: bankwalker on April 25, 2010, 06:10:23 PM: anyone have a simmons 44mag scope? i was thinking about picking a couple of them up for cheap scopes to replace my parents worn out broke down scopes...

are they worth the price?

Post by: 509er on April 25, 2010, 06:45:59 PM: I have a couple of the 6.5-20's. one on my 10/22 and one on my 22-250. They work on the smaller calibers but I don't think they would last on a larger caliber. :twocents:

Post by: carpsniperg2 on April 25, 2010, 07:19:47 PM: yeah it kinda depends on the gun. i would not put them on much more than about a 243 and feel safe with them. myself, i would spend the little more and buy a bit better scope myself for 50-75 more

The view is not clear and light transmission is about 1/2 that of my Leupolds. You can get a much better scope for not much more money.
