Hey all, took my son out with my father in law (papa) shootin ground squirrels. We had a blast! He didn't get to shoot much, plinkin cans off stumps. He was our spotter when we finally got on a good vantage point. Not to brag , but I had the shot of the day with my buddies DPMS Panther .223. 100 yards with a peep was awesome to me anyway, that little bugger flew about 4 feet in the air. My first time on a designated squirrel hunt.

congrats to him :chuckle: love the look on his face :chuckle:

Priceless!!! What a great way to spend a day, three generations hunting together. :) Those will be the memories that he cherishes the most.
Oh, what is that .22 he is holding it looks familliar, Remington maybe?
-
Yeah it's a .22, but it's an old Wards Westerner single shot with a pull plunger on the bolt. It belonged to my grandpa and he left it for my brother. But my brother doesn't hunt and has no safe to keep his guns in, so I took it. I told them that when my nephew passes hunters ed I will buy him a safe and give him all his dads guns as long as he takes care of them.

It was all in the pm's I got. I had no idea that a piece of crap vermin like that would be protected in this communist state.

Still remember the first time my dad took me out hunting. Fun times, should be legal in Washington though if ya ask me. ya can shoot a bob or fox that rarely does anyone see but those rodents get protection? ain't right. Anyways, nice shot. haha
-
i wasn't going to say anything about it glad some else did and glad you did it were you did it at :chuckle:
-
Only certain kinds are protected, some are ok to shoot. I asked fish and game about it a couple years back at the bighorn show here. Their response was that if you can't tell the difference between the different species, then you shouldn't shoot them. The officer I talked to admitted that even they couldn't tell the difference. So in reality they make it illegal because nobody can tell the difference. Now I don't condone breaking the law, but it seems if you found a farmer that had a problem with the little *censored*s they would probably be happy if you did them a favor. :twocents:
