Title: Hood Canal Shrimping
Post by: deadyote on May 05, 2010, 01:56:02 PM
I was wondering how far ahead of time I need to be at the boat launch, so I can be on the water before the 0900 start time.  I am thinking about using the boat launch near the scenic state park.  My first thought was to be at the launch around 0700, but now I am thinking at least 0600.  Any suggestions?

0630 Is a good time, the launch was CRAZY at 0800 and don't plan on getting your boat out of the water quick if you get back to the launch at 1300. It took me a 1 1/2 hr's to get my boat out today.

meh go early and worst case scenario do some trolling or see what you can hook into on the bottom.

I live over here and we wont use that crappy launch. the one just past the bridge is much nicer with a dock and two lanes.(bigger boat friendly) On the opener I got to the launch around 730 and got to dabob bay by 830 against the wind. 15 minute wait at best to get out. Make sure before you pick your launch look at the tides.
